it's all grace...

Today was one of those days... you know the ones... the kind of day that I did the very thing I swore I would NEVER do.... I become the very mom I promised myself I would NEVER become... the ranting, the raving, the screaming, the anger.  Today I completely failed that 30 year old promise to myself... again...

Yes, my kids had a lot to do with it.  And, yes, we did turn around on the way to homeschool cooperative and come back home.  And, yes, we even had the ugly tears from all of us.  Yes... it was the whole shabang!

In the midst of the raging battle this morning, my heart cried out... "LORD, please redeem this time.  Please bring beauty from these ashes."

And, He answered.  It's what He does. He is my Redeemer.  His blood redeemed me at the cross and His grace and mercy redeem me day after day after day.   Because His grace never fails, He redeemed the day this morning.  His grace rained down on four wounded hearts and His love covered a multitude of our sins...

grace given...
forgiveness granted...
love awarded...

Today I'm grateful for grace... because when it comes right down to it...

it's all grace.

  1. I'm so sorry about your morning, but rejoicing with you that it was redeemed! I heard someone say once, "I'd be such a good mom if it weren't for these kids!" or something like that. LOL. I'm glad you found grace in your day...

  4. Thank you so much for posting this. Knowing that even on the days when I totally lose my cool, the Lord can still take that day and make it something special!

  5. I am glad to read that you turned your day better by remembering the grace of God. Also remember Lamentations 3:22-23 "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." When you wake up tomorrow it is a brand new day

  6. *hug* I'm glad you remembered God's good grace and could turn your day around. And. hooray! There's a whole new day right around the corner.

I know how hard it is when I fail to be the mother that I want to be. This is my life's work, and it's so important to me! Thankfully, the children are almost as forgiving as God. I'm the one who holds on to things the longest.
