coffee? not until today...

I've mentioned before that I'm not a coffee fan... or at least, I didn't think I was.  I've always thought coffee was bitter.  It didn't seem to matter what yummy things I added to hide the taste... it was still bitter.  Until today...

I've joined in with Amy for {virtual coffee} a couple of times this year.  I usually start out by saying "I'm joining in drinking chai or hot cocoa".  Until today...

So, if we were having coffee together I would tell you that today is the first day in my 42 years of life that I have liked coffee.  In fact, it's 1:30 p.m. and I'm on my 3rd cup of it!  My man and my girl brought home some Guatemalan coffee and boy o' boy is it amazing!!  Seriously!  I think I'm in loooovvveee!  I even had to invite my friend, Rachelle, over to share in the yumminess with us.

I would also tell you that last week was a loooooooooooong week for me.  I missed them both desperately.  When I hugged them my thought was "phew! So glad that's done!"  until they both said, "I want to go back!"  I was less than thrilled with that thought.  Until today...

Maybe it's selfish... maybe it's a wrong motive... but, I think I could be okay with them going back if they bring back more of this silky smooth stuff called Guatemalan coffee!

  1. LOL I've always loved coffee but am always on the lookout for better coffee because, like you, I've always thought coffee was bitter. I used to douse it with sugar and cream. Now I just use 1/2 n 1/2 but a good amount ;)

  2. LOL there's nothing better than REALLY GOOD coffee. If you get some really fine beans, doing them french press style is an awesome way to bring out the flavors. And Guatemalan coffee is great: usually so full of chocolate or almond, or citrus of some type!

  4. Thanks for visiting my blog this morning and leaving some great ideas for exploring.

My husband has brought home great coffee from South America, too. He found one he liked so much, he tried to figure out a way how to bring home 50 pounds, but couldn't get it ordered in time. Presents to those that stay home during trips is always in order.

    Fondly,
    Glenda

  5. LOL - you are too funny. :-) I helped my hubby "make the transition" from hot chocolate drinker to coffee lover. I've loved it since I was little (really, I mean little) - and now my boys (yes, all three under 6 years old) love coffee too. OOps. Good quality coffee really makes a difference! Much to my sadness though, I have had to cut back b/c it's bad for endo. :-( Oh well, it's a favorite treat in our house now. Take care!!!
